Workplace Ethics, Teamwork and Respect: Professional Conduct

Workplace ethics are moral principles and standards that guide behavior at work, such as honesty, fairness, responsibility and respect.

Teamwork is cooperative effort by members to achieve a common goal.

Professional conduct means behaving responsibly according to professional standards, rules and organizational policies.

Example: listening politely without interrupting (any one).

Workplace harassment is unwanted behavior that humiliates, threatens or creates discomfort for others.

One benefit is higher trust and morale (any one).

Do’s of ethical team behavior include:

1. Communicate honestly and clearly.
2. Support colleagues and share needed information.
3. Take responsibility for your part of work and meet commitments.
